With over 25 years of residential design and project management experience, David Pritchard’s path to architecture started in art galleries and ended on the shores of Salt Spring Island. Studying Fine Arts in university, a three-month field school across Europe changed everything. The buildings moved him more than the paintings — Gothic cathedrals, ancient ruins, Ottoman mosques. This sparked his architectural passion and focus.
After completing his Bachelor of Architecture at Carleton University, he moved back to his hometown of Vancouver, where David spent years designing private residences for discerning clients. As Senior Associate at Peter Rose Architecture and Interiors, he led significant residential projects across British Columbia, developing deep expertise in complex coastal and waterfront sites.
Growing up on the West Coast, he spent his summers on the Gulf Islands where he fell in love with the unique landscapes of this region. Moving to Salt Spring in 2025, he founded Springboard Design to focus on the Gulf Islands projects he finds most meaningful. At Springboard Design, David creates private residences that take cues from their natural landscape while infusing client desires and wishes to create a life better lived.
